The Infiniti M is designed to deliver exhilarating power with every touch of the accelerator. The majority of the Infiniti M’s engine weight is behind the front wheel axle, making handling crisp, agile and responsive. The turbocharged V6 3.0-litre diesel engine option outputs 238 hp and a highly impressive 550Nm torque, while the V6 3.7L petrol engine variant uses VVEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift) technology to deliver 320 hp in an organic swell. The Infiniti M utilises an electronically controlled 7-speed automatic transmission to help you move through the gears swiftly and smoothly, while the Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) delivers a ride that is ideally suited to your driving style. Steering wheel-mounted magnesium paddle-shifts come as standard on both the S and S Premium grades, giving these versions an enhanced element of sports driving.
Infiniti M’s 4-Wheel Active Steer (4WAS, standard on S and S Premium grades) constantly monitors your steering angle and speed to provide assistance where and when you need it. Wheel-spin, throttle position and vehicle speed are intuitively assessed by the system, which can then automatically adjust the power steering to the front wheels to improve the driving experience and to enhance control in adverse conditions.
The Drive Mode Selector is an integrated vehicle control system that allows you to configure the Infiniti M’s engine and transmission mapping to one of four modes with the turn of a switch - so that you can refine the M’s driving character according to your situation or preference. Standard mode realises the optimal default configuration. Sport mode increases the responsiveness of the powertrain, enhancing challenging driving experiences, while Snow mode automatically adjusts power to make driving in wintry conditions easier. Lastly, Eco mode promotes ecological driving through earlier gear-changing, smoother starting and more stable cruising – all of which ensure more efficient fuel usage.
